Nigel Edwards

Nigel Edwards used to work for a merchant bank in the City. He was 45 when he contacted us after reading a ‘Money Makeover’ that our director, Simon Williamson, had written for the Financial Times. He had a high salary, with large bonuses, a substantial pension fund and some shares in the bank. Unfortunately, the large family home had gone with his ex-wife when she left him and he was worried that if he kept up the same pace of work his new partner would go the same way.

He had an idea for setting up a new business, in a county town, in an area which also suited his new partner’s talents as an interior decorator. We were able to help them put together a complete feasibility exercise and long-term tax and cash flow plans. We also helped them with business plans and introduced them to an accountant for further guidance.

His commuting time is now about ten minutes. They’ve both become involved with the business and social life in their new town. Whilst he reckons he’s working just as hard as he ever did, he’s about two stone lighter, his blood pressure’s back to normal and he smiles a lot.
