Constance and Michael

Constance and Michael were introduced to us by one of their relatives who is a client of ours. The family had recently taken the difficult decision that Constance could no longer cope and that Michael would have to be placed in a residential home. They needed advice on the best way to fund this, whilst allowing Constance to remain in the family home.

When we met them they were contemplating having to sell their house, against their wishes.

By spending some of the capital that they had accrued, Constance purchased an immediate long-term care plan. This guarantees assistance towards paying for Michael’s care in a residential home, where he is happy and content, for as long as he needs it.

By utilising some of the equity in their house we also arranged an increased income for Constance. Our help has enabled Michael to move to a residential home of their choice; whilst Constance can not only stay in the house, but can also afford to pay for help in the house and a driver to take her to see Michael regularly.

The names and circumstances of this case study have been changed to protect our clients' identity.
