Keri has the ability to combine professionalism with kindness and it was these qualities that came to the fore when my husband suddenly passed away and we were catapulted into a situation with the Trustees of his estate which nobody could have foreseen.
As Christmas approaches we at Broadway Financial Planning would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. The year has seen some changes for us, of which more details are given below together with some other items we hope you will find of interest.
A small group of colleagues in South Wales, who we have known for some years through our membership of the Institute of Financial Planning, have joined us in the capacity of ‘BFP Wales’. Some of them were able to be here with us in Broadway on a lovely evening in July when we celebrated the company’s 21st Birthday.
Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments CISI
The Board of our professional body, the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) has been keen to expand the reach of true Financial Planning. Both Simon and I, who have both been members of the Board in the past, have been keen supporters of this expansion. After much
discussion, the IFP agreed to a merger with the CISI which will allow the new professional body to expand its reach of Financial Planning to a much larger membership, a key objective for the IFP.
The merger provides the opportunity for all Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) to become Chartered Wealth Managers. Together with our new colleagues in South Wales, this will enable four of us to be Chartered Wealth Managers, a designation more easily recognised by the general public and professional connections. We are now one of the most qualified Financial Planning firms in the country and see this as being a positive step forward in offering our professionalism to a greater number of people, a factor that is very much part of our own business plan.
